The 38th CACCI Conference held in Singapore on November 11-12, 2024, witnessed the induction of Hiromi Aoki as the Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Asia-Pacific (YEGAP). Aoki, the President and CEO of Suntech Co., Ltd., brings extensive experience and a passion for fostering cross-border collaboration.
In his speech, Aoki expressed his gratitude and outlined his vision for YEGAP. “Serving as chairman is my greatest honor,” he said. “Every great journey begins with the first step, although it is the most challenging.” He emphasized the importance of stepping out of comfort zones, saying, “A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”
Aoki is renowned for his dedication to building friendly relations across countries. Under his leadership, Suntech Co., Ltd. actively promotes diversity, employing global talent, including Syrian refugees granted asylum and African students. This ethos aligns with Aoki’s vision of “One Asia—One Family” and his commitment to fostering unity through shared values and mutual respect.
His appointment as YEGAP Chairman by the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry marks a new chapter for the group, with a focus on eliminating barriers, embracing challenges, and building an inclusive and prosperous future for the region.
